Crafts

I hope this is what you have in mind, seventhbard, for the kind of posts you want in here--
I was curious what crafts everyone does. I know seventhbard knitrochets (is that right?) LOL.  Do any of you make candles?  I was kind of looking into it and was curious if any of you do.  I'd also know what else any of you do to create things and if you sell them or keep them for your own use, or what.  Thanks!

Hmmmm... I'm not too much of a crafty person, but I love making friendship bracelets, even though I am a total n00b at it! Jewelry making in general I find really fun, and have made my own earrings and such. :D I also have a fondness for scrapbooking, if the materials weren't so expensive and if I weren't such a procrastinator! ^_^ I don't sell anything, because I'm not good enough, haha.

I'm also learning how to knit and am loving that, too!

I knit and crochet of a sort (I'm spending a lot of time at the moment teaching myself to do more elaborate crochet patterns rather than sticking with baby blankets!). I dabble in jewelry making and also jam making (is that a craft? I know I'm not terribly good at it!). I also cross-stitch and in the past also did tapestries ( I still have some that need to be finished/started).

I am collecting 'things' for a first attempt at a scrapbooking project. In the past I've done stencilling and embossing (Still have all the stuff for those in storage).

I like to give presents to friends and family that have been made (particularly at Christmas). Most of the time, they're really simple gifts (year before last it was vanilla essence, last year most people got home made bathsalts). More something that I've put a little time and effort into rather than the gift being about having spent loads of money. This year I've made a bunch of ruffly scarves and some crocheted hats and I still have a couple of months to go.

I used to create things to sell for my anime club - tassels to go with bookmarks, badges, jewellery, plushies but I haven't in a long time. /o\

I'll finger knit sometimes to keep my hands busy, but I usually unravel it all when I am done.

Yay crafty posts! I make a lot of things! I will enhance with photoz:

Here are some custom made bin cages for rats and hamsters (I find them superior to most storebought cages):

And yes I "knitrochet!" LOL. It's crocheting but I find that people tend to call it knitting because that's the only yarn art they know hence the combo word, haha! I'd hate to think what people who are into tatting (which is like this hella complex lacemaking thingie) must hear. XD

"Just call my crocheting 'knitting' again, I dare ya!"

I fancy myself an embroiderer but other than some holiday items I haven't worked on my projects in a long time.

This year I got into making pickles in a big way. I've done red radishes, failed at daikon, did cucumber multiple times, and I've made eggplant kimchi. Next up is garlic - in honey.

I crochet every once in a blue moon. I'm not that active with it, though. I lose patience easily with bigger projects and I haven't been motivated to do anything small in a good while.

ETA: Come to think of it, with two kids at home, having the TIME to crochet anything is hard to come by, LoL. I'd do it while watching TV but I like to watch everything with subtitles and I can't crochet without looking. XD

I am sadly VERY un-handy. I even tried my hand at model-making (with those plastic Tamiya models you can buy from stores), and I failed at that too. T_T I cook and bake, does that count?
